The book was created in collaboration with leading experts on this subfamily of Cerambycidae. It is a follow-up to the titles The Prionids of the World and The Prionids of the Neotropical Region by Ivo Jeniš.

The aim of this illustrated guide is to introduce these fascinating insects, commonly known as Prionids, to all nature enthusiasts. The book stands out for its detailed identification views and the wide range of represented genera. Specifically, it features 200 species and approximately 127 genera. Prioninae of the World.
In addition to depictions of both male and female specimens, the main illustrated section includes bionomic data, collection location, and a map showing the distribution and capture site of each specimen. Some of the illustrated species have never been published before. The book also includes a complete list of all known Prioninae species.
